Understanding Pages With Albums and Pages Without Albums

Updated over a month ago

Vsble gives you two different ways to display images on your website, depending on how you want to organise and present your work.

1. Pages With Albums

Pages with albums are ideal if you want to group images or videos into separate projects, categories, or collections.

How it works

Instead of showing all images directly on the page, the page displays a list or overview of albums.

Each album:

  • contains its own set of images

  • has an album cover image

  • can have its own title and description

When visitors open the page, they first see the albums.
They can then click into an album to view the images inside it.

Best for

Pages with albums are useful when you want to:

  • organise work into projects or series

  • separate different shoots, jobs, or themes

  • create a cleaner overview if you have many images

Example

A photographer may create a page called Fashion, and inside that page create albums such as:

  • Vogue

  • Elle France

  • Harper's Bazaar

  • Cosmopolitan

The page will show these albums first, each with its own cover image.

2. Pages Without Albums

Pages without albums are ideal if you want to upload images or videos directly to the page without grouping them into separate albums.

How it works

Instead of creating albums, you simply upload images straight to the page.

This means:

  • there are no album covers

  • there is no album overview

  • all uploaded images are displayed directly on the page itself

Visitors immediately see all images on that page without needing to click into an album first.

Best for

Pages without albums are useful when you want to:

  • present one single image selection directly

  • create a more simple, immediate viewing experience

  • avoid extra structure when albums are not needed

Example

A user may create a page called Selected Works or Fine Art Prints and upload images directly there, so all works appear instantly on the page.

Main Difference at a Glance

Pages With Albums

  • Images are grouped into albums

  • Each album has a cover image

  • Visitors first see the album overview

  • Best for organised project-based presentation

Pages Without Albums

  • Images are uploaded directly to the page

  • No grouping into albums

  • All images are visible directly on the page

  • Best for simple, direct image presentation

Which Option Should You Choose?

Choose pages with albums if you want more structure and want to divide your work into separate categories or projects.

Choose pages without albums if you want a simpler layout where all images appear directly on the page without additional clicks.

Both options are useful — it simply depends on how you want your work to be experienced.
